The Who album delayed by Oasis

The Who's first studio recording since 1982 will not be released in mid-2005 as previously announced. Pete Townshend, the rock group's guitarist and songwriter had previously announced that The Who planned to release the new album, called "Who2", in late spring or early summer 2005.

Posting on his official website, www.petetownshend.co.uk, the rock guitarist explained that the new Who album will still be released, but just not in the original time frame. Townshend also noted that plans to tour have been delayed as drummer Zak Starkey, son of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, will be touring with Oasis until the end of the year.
