Danny Miranda: This is rock n' roll history
Former Blue Oyster Cult bassist Danny Miranda who is currently on tour in Europe with Queen + Paul Rodgers spoke to Thomas Zeidler about the invitation to join the band as well as his experience so far. This is what he had to say: "It doesn't get much better than Queen and I'm honoured to play that music every night. That music is very sacred to me. I'm honoured to play that music every night in concert.
About his bandmates: "The more you are around Brian May, Roger Taylor and Paul Rodgers the easier it is to forget who they are."
About the tour: "I thought Holy shit, this is big, this is Queen, this is gonna explode... and it has. Brixton, especially, was a real shock, there's a lot of love out there. I see people, grown up people, crying their eyes out."
About John Deacon, the Queen bassist who has decided not to join for the tour: "Deaky is grossly underrated but was as good or better than anybody and a real inspiration."
Listen to part 1 of the interview this Sunday, May 1, after Queen Hour. Part 2 will be broadcast on May 8.
