U2 record new video

U2 filmed the video for "City of Blinding Lights," the next single from their How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb album, on Wednesday at the General Motors Place in Vancouver, Canada.

More than 3,500 fans were recruited to fill seats at the arena for the lengthy shoot, during which U2 ran through the song seven times before treating fans to a trio of additional Atomic Bomb tunes.

In between takes, Bono asked jokingly Adam why he wanted to win Pop Idol and the bass player replied: "So I can travel and meet interesting people."

U2 are sheduled to perform in Vancouver on April 29. The Irish rockers will then take a seven day break from their 2005 Vertigo world tour and continue their concerts on May 7 in Chicago.
