Coldplay break download record

Coldplay's new single "Speed Of Sound" made history reaching No 1 on all 15 iTunes download music Stores worldwide (a first) after only one day on release and has registered the highest week-one download sales for any new track in history.

Additionally, they became the first British band since 1968 to have a single break straight into the US Top 10 Singles Charts. The last British band to have achieved a similar US singles chart success was The Beatles with "Hey Jude" in 1968.

Coldplay's highly anticipated new album "X & Y" will be released on June 6, 2005.
