Joe Perry releases solo album

Aerosmith lead guitarist, Joe Perry, has released his self-titled fourth solo album on DualDisc format on May 3.

The project saw Perry push himself musically by singing every track and performing almost every instrument on his new album. During his latest challenge he said of the endoveor, "Now that I have this under my belt. I may even be less inclined to sing on an Aerosmith record, cause there are usually so many songs with all five of us playing and singing, it's almost like now that I've got this out of my system, I don't know if I need to do that. But if it happens, you know, that a song comes along that's appropriate, I will. I'm definitely more comfortable singing in this lower range, and it's opened a lot of doors for me."

The Aerosmith guitarist will perform on NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" on Tuesday and at New York City's Webster Hall. But he won't stay solo for long; Aerosmith are planning to release a live album and tour later in 2005.
