Linkin Park pressure to leave label
After five albums and many multiplatinums later, the alternative metal/rap/electronic band want out of their contract with Warner Music Group. This comes hot on the heels as Warner Music Group prepares for an initial public offering of shares. Linkin Park's management company, The Firm, issued a statement and said the band has become "increasingly concerned" that Warner Music's diminished resources will leave it unable to compete in today's global music market place".
Warner hit back with the a statement saying "While Linking Park's talent is without question, the band's management is using fictitious numbers and making baseless charges and inflammatory threats in what is clearly a negotiating tactic".
