Alice Cooper brings his "Dirty Diamonds"
Shock rocker Alice Cooper returns with his forthcoming album "Dirty Diamonds" to be released on July 4, 2005. The album features 12 new tracks primarily written by Alice and the band. It was co-produced by Steve Lindsey (whose credits include Leonard Cohen and Elton John) and Rick Boston (Rickie Lee Jones) and was recorded in 13 days in and around Los Angeles. The band are Alice Cooper on vocals and harmonica, longtime guitarist Ryan Roxie, Damon Johnson (formerly of Brother Cane) - guitars, bass (Perfect), Chuck Garric - bass, guitar (Dirty Diamonds) and drummer Tommy Clufetos. The band all sing backing vocals.
"Dirty Diamonds" continues the back-to-basics philosophy established with 2003's "The Eyes of Alice Cooper" album. "I wanted the sound of a classic Stones album" says Cooper and adds "When I listen to the Stones or the Yardbirds, there are occasional mistakes going on. Not major mistakes, but you just can't beat the feel of those records. I believe you can cook all the juice right out of a song by recording it too much."
