Megadeth future uncertain
Megadeth songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Dave Mustaine is reportedly having second thoughts about the band. He will keep the metal band alive for the North American "Gigantour" this summer and a couple of other projects but is now uncertain about its future after the scheduled shows. Mustaine had originally planned "The System Has Failed", Megadeth's 2004 album as a solo project and used the band's name for contractual reasons but now speaks on having second thoughts saying, "I still was convinced that this was gonna be the last Megadeth record. But you know, after going out and touring and having these new, wonderful people I'm playing with and this whole new administration that I'm part of, it's just given me a huge, very uncomfortable question mark. Do I go out on top because Megadeth certainly is at the top of its form right now or do I throw the dice again".
The 44 year old California native said he will make a final decision regarding Megadeth's future after the summer performances.
"Gigantour" kicks off on July 21 in Fresno, California and Megadeth release a CD and CD/DVD set "Greatest Hits: Back To The Start" on June 28.
