Motorhead: 30th anniversary show

"Welcome to the 30th anniversary show. We are Motorhead; we play rock n' roll" said Lemmy and the band launched into 'Doctor Rock' with most of the 5,000 fans headbanging and singing along: "All right, all right, I hope you son of bitches see the light".
Indeed, the light coming out of the giant aluminium-made bomber plane (pictured above) on the stage, could not be missed.
Motorhead's Thursday night special anniversary gig in London's Hammersmith Apollo showcased the band's 30 year career. Raw, loud, no-nonsense rock n' roll.
Lemmy's voice was as powerful as ever, Phil Campbell's guitar riffs were as solid as always and Mikkey Dee on drums had no problem making our tympanic membranes perforate.
Motorhead played most of their classics including 'No Class', 'Over The Top' and 'Killed by Death' as well as several tunes from their latest album, 'Inferno', saving 'Bomber' and 'Ace Of Spades' for the encore. The show ended with 'Overkill' - as dictated by Motorhead tradition.
The concert was filmed for a future DVD release. The supporting bands were Girlschool and Saxon.
