The Who honoured by charity

The Who were honored last week by the Nordoff-Robbins, a UK-based charitable organization. The band was given the 30th Anniversary Award on Friday (June 17) at the charity's 30th annual Silver Clef Awards ceremony in London, and lead singer Roger Daltrey collected the honor on behalf of the group.

The Who and Nordoff-Robbins have a three-decade relationship, and the band has both raised money and donated musical instruments to the organization, which uses music and music therapy to reach young people with physical and emotional problems.

The Who will perform at the London Live 8 show in Hyde Park on July 2, 2005.

Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshend have been working on a new Who album for quite some time but they haven't set a release date yet.
