Cream to play Madison Square Garden?

It's looking more and more likely that there will be a few Cream reunion shows in New York City this autumn. The Relix magazine website relix.com reports that the group is booked at Madison Square Garden in New York City on October 24th, 25th, and 26th. That story coincides with a recent one on the billboard.com website that three nights at the Garden have been reserved for Cream. The band's US spokesperson was unavailable for comment.

If Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker do decide to play in America, then symbolically, Madison Square Garden could be the most likely place. In May, they did four nights at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where they played their final shows in November 1968. But before they made it back to London, the band did some farewell dates on the other side of the Atlantic, and their last US concert was at the Garden on November 1, 1968.
