Franz Ferdinand tour & new album
Franz Ferdinand have set October 4th as the release date for their sophomore album. Like the band's 2004 debut, the disc will be self-titled, but will feature a different colour scheme on its cover to differentiate it from its predecessor. The Scottish quartet has also announced dates and venues for its North American tour in the autumn, which begins on September 20th in Chicago, Illinois.Franz Ferdinand's second album was recorded in both rural Scotland and a studio in New York City, where the band also mixed and mastered the project.
The group's first album was certified platinum for sales of more than one million copies and featured the hit single, "Take Me Out." The album and band were nominated for three Grammy Awards and won two Brit Awards.
