Metallica frontman auctioning trophies

Metallica frontman James Hetfield is auctioning on eBay a number of the animal "trophies" he has collected as a hunter over the years, according to Blabbermouth.net. All of the animals were slaughtered by Hetfield himself and at one time hung in the living room of his house. Each of the singer-guitarist's victims comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Hetfield. A complete listing of the items up for auction can be found at eBay.

Hetfield's wife reportedly used to call the room where her husband displayed his kills "the Dead Room."

Proceeds from the auction will be donated to MAP (Musicians' Assistance Program) and the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. Bidding ends on August 3, 2005.
