Motley Crue won't rush new record

The reunited Motley Crue have been telling concert audiences that the band fully intends to go back into the studio and create a new album. So when's it going to happen? Bassist Nikki Sixx told us that the band isn't planning to rush an album out just to capitalize on its new popularity:
[ click here to listen if you have a Backstage Pass] "There's one thing we all agree on in the band, which is it's more important to have a great record than to rush getting it out. In other words, if it takes us a year, meaning to write the songs and demo the songs and then record the record and get it ready to put out - that's more important than just trying to put a record out. It's important to us to have a great record."

Sixx said that they have already started collecting riffs and lyrical ideas but haven't really started to turn them into songs.

The band included three new recordings on its recent Red, White & Crue compilation: originals "If I Die Tomorrow" and "Sick Love Song," plus a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Street Fighting Man."

The group will release a DVD, Carnival Of Sin, on October 4, 2005.

Motley Crue launch their Carnival Of Sin North American summer jaunt on July 24th in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The group's successful reunion tour is slated to roll into 2006.
