Neil Young releasing new project

The project Neil Young worked on in Nashville earlier this year will come out September 20th. It's called Prairie Wind, and Young is releasing it in a CD-and-DVD package. A message scrolling on the bottom of the official neilyoung.com website reads, "The DVD shows us recording the whole record, every note you hear, you see!" Young didn't say who "us" is, but a few months back, his sister Astrid said that the sessions included long-time Young collaborators Spooner Oldham, Ben Keith, and Carl Himmel.

Young plans to shoot a concert movie at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville next month. While no dates have been announced, his site lists a show on August 19th at an unnamed venue.

Young will join John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, Willie Nelson, and others at the 20th annual Farm Aid concert, which takes place September 18th at the Tweeter Center in Tinley Park, Illinois.
