New album for Black Sabbath guitarist

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi takes a break from his OzzFest preparations today (Tuesday, July 12th) to release a new album called Fused. It features ex-Deep Purple singer-bassist Glenn Hughes, who worked with Iommi previously on the 1986 Black Sabbath album Seventh Star and last year's The 1996 DEP Sessions, along with drummer Kenny Aronoff, whose resume includes the Iommi album in 2000 and a long run with John Mellencamp.

Iommi told us that he, Aronoff, and Hughes had a great time making the record:

It was just like being kids, because Kenny, you know, (laughs) he was like, he's so, like, up, and full of energy, and you've got Glenn (makes crazy sound), and Kenny (makes crazy sound) - bloody hell! It's almost too much, you know, but it, it worked."

OzzFest, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, starts Friday (July 15th) at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Black Sabbath are the headliners, with Iron Maiden in the second spot.
