New John Lennon exhibits

Several new items will be put on display at John Lennon's boyhood home in Liverpool, England on Wednesday, July 20th. The house, named "Mendips" where Lennon lived with his Aunt Mimi & Uncle George Smith, from the age of four to about 18, is now managed by the National Trust, a charity that oversees historical landmark sites in England, in association with his widow Yoko Ono.

Among the new pieces on exhibit are:

A copy of Lennon's Sunday school attendance sheet.

Several of his early childhood paintings - some of which went on to be featured on the cover of his 1974 Walls And Bridges album.

Replicas of his passport from 1960 to 1970 - which charts Lennon and the Beatles' worldwide journeys throughout the years, from their first trip to Hamburg, Germany in 1960, throughout the rest of Europe, the US, the Far East and India.

A spokeswoman for Yoko told CNN.com that, quote, "Yoko chose the items very carefully, as she wanted to do something special to mark the year of John's 65th anniversary and the 25th anniversary of his death." Lennon who was murdered in 1980, would have been celebrating his 65th birthday this coming October 9th.

She went on to add that, "We hope that many people will visit Mendips in this special year, and take the opportunity to see a very personal side of John as a child through this unique collection of memorabilia."
