Rock items auction on ebay

Radiohead, System Of A Down (pictured), the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nine Inch Nails are among the artists who have donated items for a second auction to raise money for victims of "ethnic cleansing" in the African nation of Sudan. The Waxploitation label will begin the auction on eBay on July 12th. Other acts that have contributed rare and signed memorabilia include Foo Fighters, the Beastie Boys, Rob Zombie, Metallica, Eminem, OutKast, Prince, REM and Kanye West, as well as actor Angelina Jolie and tennis star Serena Williams.

Over 100 items are expected to be auctioned. More information can be found at ebay.com/the_wax_trust.

An initial auction held earlier this year, along with sales of a CD called Genocide In Sudan, raised over $10,000 for relief efforts in Sudan and the neighboring country of Chad. The CD featured System Of A Down, Gorillaz, Jurassic 5 and others.

The United Nations has called the Sudan situation "one of the worst humanitarian crises" in the world right now. The New York Times reports that more than 400,000 people have been murdered and 2 million driven from their homes by government-backed militias aiming to rid the Darfur region of its African and non-Arab population.
