Rolling Stones announce album title

The Rolling Stones have decided on A Bigger Bang as the title of their upcoming studio album and world tour. No specifics were announced, but the title supposedly refers to the band's fascination with the theory of how the universe was created. The tour starts August 21st at Fenway Park in Boston, and the album is due September 6, 2005.

At the press conference to announce the tour, lead singer Mick Jagger tried to describe the album, and singer-guitarist Keith Richards found it rather amusing:

The Stones are releasing three songs from A Bigger Bang - the official single "Streets Of Love," which came out yesterday (Tuesday, July 26th); "Rough Justice," which dropped last week; and "Back Of My Hand," which is on the way.

Another song from the album, "Oh No, Not You Again," was performed at the tour press conference in New York City in May.

A Bigger Bang is their first all-new album since Bridges To Babylon came out in 1997.
