Slipknot to release live album
Slipknot are preparing their first live album for release this October as the group also gears up for a fall North American trek. The concert CD does not have a title yet, and no further details about its contents have been revealed. While dates and venues are yet to be announced, the tour will begin on October 15th and is booked so far through November 15th, with more shows to possibly follow. Slipknot have been touring for over a year in support of their 2004 album, Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), and this run of dates is likely to be the band's last for this record. But lead singer Corey Taylor, who's also planning to regroup with Stone Sour later this year, told us that those plans are yet to be finalized:

Suffice to say, as long as it makes sense, we're gonna do it, but right now it's just fleshing out what the opportunities are." The group's third album, Vol. 3 debuted at Number Two on the Billboard Top 200 and has been certified platinum for sales of more than one million copies.
The latest single from Vol. 3 is called "Before I Forget."
Slipknot began their year-long campaign with a headlining jaunt in the spring of 2004. Since then, the band has headlined the second stage of Ozzfest 2004 and the Jagermeister Music Tour, plus appeared on a number of European and Australian festivals.
