Deep Purple deny internet leak

Some websites have a picture of what they say is the cover for the next Deep Purple album, but the band says not to believe what you see. A post on the official deep-purple.com website reads, "The Internet is a brilliant thing but can also spread rumors that are untrue. At the moment, there is a rumor regarding the artwork of the upcoming Rapture Of The Deep, including an image. However, this artwork is not - repeat, not - what the album will look like...The artwork in the rumor is one that was proposed to the band...which they rejected. The real artwork is being fine-tuned as we speak."

The message also tells people to keep an eye on the site, because it will be redesigned "according to the look of the new album" once the artwork is ready.

Rapture Of The Deep is scheduled to come out in Europe and Japan in October. No North American release date has been announced yet.

The group is planning a lengthy world tour to support the album, with some talk that they'll be on the road for two years.
