Iron Maiden step in for Sabbath again

Ozzy Osbourne is still sick, and it's cost Black Sabbath a second OzzFest appearance in a week. Sabbath had to sit out their headlining gig in Holmdel, New Jersey, last Wednesday (July 27th), and they did so again on Sunday, July 31st in Noblesville, Indiana.

In both cases, Iron Maiden stepped up and did a headlining set. OzzFest spokespeople haven't said what's bothering Ozzy, although it's thought to be something of an upper respiratory nature. It's unknown whether Osbourne will be well enough to perform on Tuesday, August 2nd when OzzFest pulls into the Germain Amphitheatre in Columbus, Ohio.

In other Maiden news, the British metal band is playing a special benefit concert at Hammersmith Apollo in London on September 2, 2005 for ex-drummer Clive Burr who suffers from multiple sclerosis.
