Santana to play benefit concert
Santana has lined up a benefit concert for October 16th in Concord, California, that will raise money for an organization close to home. The band will perform at the Chronicle Pavilion At Concord, and the proceeds from the show are going to the Milagro Foundation, which is the charitable operation that was set up by Carlos Santana and his wife Deborah. The foundation has been going for about six years now, but this is the first time that the Santana band will raise money for it.The Milagro Foundation was started in 1998 to help fund arts and education programs and health care for underprivileged children.
Santana's new album, which is called All That I Am, has been delayed a few times this year, but now it's supposed to come out November 1st. The first single features pop singer Michelle Branch, who teamed up with the guitarist on the Top Five hit "The Game Of Love" from his Shaman album in 2002.
The guitar legend will be part of the NFL Opening Kickoff celebration next Thursday (September 8th) at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, to help launch the new football season.
