System Of A Down: "Hypnotize is great"

Although System Of A Down are still enjoying the success of the May release, Mezmerize, the band will issue its companion album, Hypnotize, sometime this autumn. But will Hypnotize match the quality of its predecessor? Guitarist Daron Malakian told usthat he thinks both albums are equally good:
[ click here to listen if you have a Backstage Pass] "It didn't come down to, like, the best songs are gonna be on Mezmerize and the other songs are gonna be on Hypnotize. It didn't work out that way. We made sure that we didn't do it that way. There's, like, a lot of great material on Hypnotize, and knowing we had two records full of great songs - if we had two records and one of them wasn't as great as the other, we wouldn't have done it."

The exact release date for Hypnotize hasn't been announced yet.

The latest single from Mezmerize is called "Question!". System bassist Shavo Odadjian co-directed the song's video.

System Of A Down begin their 40-date North American arena tour on Thursday (August 4th) in Long Beach, California.
