ZZ Top having fun with summer setlist
With no new album to promote, ZZ Top are having some fun with their repertoire on their summer tour. While the group is playing all the expected hits, like "Tush," "Gimme All Your Lovin'," and "Legs," the Texas trio is also pulling out more obscure material. Guitarist Billy F. Gibbons told us that he, bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard each get to pick a song at every show: [

And each night the man, Mr. Beard, the man with no beard, gets to call one. The famous Dusty Hill gets to pull out the low stuff on what he wants to do. And by the time I get through with it, we're actually having a good time playing a lot of unusual stuff." ZZ Top plan to start working on a new album before the end of the year.
Gibbons will publish a memoir, Billy F. Gibbons: Rock + Roll Gearhead, on October 15th, chronicling his passion for collecting cars and guitars.
Their next show is on Friday (August 5th) in Davenport, Iowa.
