3 new Nirvana tracks to surface

Three previously unreleased Nirvana songs will surface on November 1st. The tracks will be included on Sliver: The Best Of The Box, a compilation of highlights from last year's four-disc boxed set, With The Lights Out. Late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's daughter with Courtney Love, 13-year-old Frances Bean Cobain, reportedly helped select the album's title and cover image. Love told RollingStone.com, "We're pulling Frances into the family business."

With The Lights Out, which featured rarities and demos in addition to classic Nirvana tracks, came out last November after a protracted legal battle between Love and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl (now with the Foo Fighters) and bassist Krist Novoselic.

The boxed set has sold 429,000 copies since its release, according to Billboard.com.

There's no further information yet on what the three previously unheard songs will be.
