Bon Jovi donate $1m for Katrina relief

When Jon Bon Jovi appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday, September 21st, he wasn't just out to promote his band's new album. The New Jersey rocker and the rest of the group wrote a check for $1 million to Oprah's Angel Network to help Hurricane Katrina survivors rebuild their lives. He told Oprah, "The band and I want you to continue your good deeds."

Bon Jovi celebrated the release of their new album, Have A Nice Day, this week with the first show at the Nokia Theatre in New York's Times Square. The album is also available as a DualDisc featuring videos and other footage.

The band will kick off a US tour on November 2nd in Des Moines, Iowa. Tickets for some shows start going on sale this Saturday (September 24th).

Frontman Jon also appears in the new thriller, Cry Wolf, out now in theatres.
