The Edge: U2 plotting next album move

U2 are beginning to think about their next album - even though they are still touring in support of their latest release, 2004's How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. But guitarist The Edge told us that he's been working on ideas for Atomic Bomb's successor: [ click here to listen if you have a Backstage Pass] "I've got a sort of recording rig on the road with me, and I'm trying to work up some new ideas, some of which are starting to sound pretty interesting. So we've got a bit of a jump on it. I would hope that it'll be sooner rather than later."

U2's next release, however, will be a concert DVD called Vertigo 2005: Live From Chicago, which comes out November 15th. The Irish band will also be featured on the Live 8 DVD, which comes out November 8th.

U2 resume their Vertigo World Tour on Monday (October 3rd) in Boston.
