INXS open new chapter

After weeks of adventures for the contestants on Rock Star: INXS, the group has settled on J.D. Fortune as its new lead singer. Fortune immediately joined INXS in a Los Angeles studio to start working on its next album, titled Switch. Keyboardist-guitarist Andrew Farriss told us why the group felt Fortune would fit in well: [ click here to listen if you have a Backstage Pass] "Combination of things. First of all, you know, there's a simple chemistry. For the five original members of the band, it had to feel right for all of us, you know what I mean? You know, it has to be someone we feel that most suits the group. So I think it was something that we finally, you know, it just felt right."

Switch, INXS' first album of new material since 1997's Elegantly Wasted, will be released on November 29th.

Farriss and Fortune co-wrote the album's first single, "Pretty Vegas." The song will be released through the iTunes Music Store on October 4th.

INXS will perform on Friday, September 23rd, on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson.

The group plans to begin a tour in January.
