Official: Cream concerts in NY confirmed

The long-rumoured Cream shows in New York City are now a reality. The reunited trio of Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker will hit Madison Square Garden on October 24th, 25th, and 26th for their only U.S. dates. A special pre-sale for American Express cardholders will begin Monday (September 12th) at 9 a.m. ET with a four-ticket limit, and any seats left over will be available to the general public on September 19th.

Cream played the Royal Albert Hall in London on May 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th. It marked the first time the band had worked together in a concert setting since 1968, when they did farewell shows at the Albert Hall. Clapton hopes there are no health issues next month, because he told us that the guys were ill back in the spring: [ click here to listen if you have a Backstage Pass] "It was great. I got sick - we all got sick. There were some terrible flu bugs going around England at that time, but it still came out pretty good."

A CD and DVD from the May reunion shows will be released October 4th. They will share a common tracklisting, but the versions of the songs will be different on the DVD and CD.
