Rush-related DVD's coming this autumn
Rush are working on a live DVD that should come out this year. It's called R30 Live In Frankfurt, and it was shot on September 24th, 2004, as the band toured to celebrate their 30th anniversary. The DVD is targeted for "late fall," according to their official website, but no other information has been announced. It will be the second concert DVD from the band in as many years, following the autumn 2003 release of Rush In Rio. That one was shot at the last show of the band's Vapor Trails world tour, which took place at Maracana Stadium in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, on November 23rd, 2002. Rush In Rio was named Music DVD Of The Year at the 2004 Juno Awards, which are the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys.
In related news, drummer and lyricist Neal Peart is also working on a DVD called Anatomy Of A Drum, which will be the follow-up to his A Work In Progress instructional home video. The Peart DVD should be out late this fall, as well.
Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson is one of the Canadian celebrities who'll be on hand today (Friday, August 2nd) at the Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ontario, for Golfapalooza. The tournament is a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The day ends with an all-star Golfapalooza concert.
