Springsteen to release Hammersmith DVD

The 30th anniversary reissue of Bruce Springsteen's Born To Run will include a DVD with a show he's had a love-hate relationship with. The November 18th, 1975, concert at the Hammersmith Odeon in London was the first European show the E Street Band ever played, and The Boss said it wasn't a very good performance. It should be noted that he was in a bad mood at the time because the "I've seen the future of rock-and-roll" hype was in full swing, and Springsteen even ripped down a few posters that advertised the show by saying "Is London ready for Bruce Springsteen?" However, his feelings about the concert must have changed, because a year ago, he decided to put the Hammersmith footage together for the Born To Run reissue. According to backstreets.com, two clips were shown at the recent Springsteen symposium in New Jersey - "She's The One" and the 1961 Gary "US" Bonds hit "Quarter To Three" - and the live music will be available in both stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound.

The DVD will reportedly also include a lengthy documentary on the making of the album.

There's no official release date for the new Born To Run, but it could be out before the end of the year.

The tracklisting for the Hammersmith Odeon DVD, according to the music industry publication FMQB, includes: "Thunder Road," "10th Avenue Freeze Out," "Spirit In The Night," "Lost In The Flood," "She's The One," "Born To Run," "E Street Shuffle," "It's Hard To Be A Saint In The City," "Backstreets," ""Kitty's Back," ""Jungleland," "Rosalita," "4th Of July Asbury Park (Sandy)," "Detroit Medley," "For You," and "Quarter To Three."
