System Of A Down on Hypnotize Video
System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian has directed a video for the title track from the band's upcoming Hypnotize album. Odadjian has directed four previous SOAD clips and didn't initially want to helm this one, saying, "I wanted some time off. We have a week and a half between tours and I really didn't want to do a video - I just wanted to be in the video and let it happen. But after reading 15 treatments of garbage and me having a good idea - if I don't tell my band my idea, it's an injustice to the band and myself - I told them my idea. And everyone ripped up all of those treatments and said, 'You're doing the video.'"Odadjian added that he has been approached by Miramax Films to direct a feature film, but did not offer any more details. The bassist told us he wants to keep moving forward in all aspects of his career:

If you're content as an artist, that means you've stopped growing. As an artist, personally, I have so much more to do and so many more places to go, as a bass player, as a guitar player, as a director. You know, there's so much I want to do. There's, like, so many doors ahead of me that need to be opened, and will get opened." Odadjian directed the video for "Question!," the current single from System Of A Down's Mezmerize album.
Hypnotize, the companion disc to Mezmerize, is slated for a November release, although an exact date is still not finalized.
