Bomb threat at Rolling Stones concert

The Rolling Stones took an unexpected break during their concert at the University of Virginia on Thursday (October 6) because of a bomb threat. After performing the first eight songs of the set, Mick Jagger announced to the crowd that authorities told them to take a break.

The bomb threat was phoned in just before 9 PM local time and was "specific to the stage area," university spokesman Carol Wood told Reuters. The stage and the first 20 rows at the university's 61,000-seat Scott Stadium were cleared until police and three bomb-sniffing dogs finished searching the area.

The Rolling Stones got back on stage after the 45 minute break and resumed the show. The band played past midnight and completed their set.
