Early U2 songs working well in shows

U2 have pleased many of their fans with the inclusion of some very early material in their current concert setlist. The group has even reached all the way back to its first album, 1980's Boy, for some songs. Guitarist The Edge told us that U2 feel there's a direct line between those songs and the material on the Irish quartet's latest album, How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb:

They haven't dated in a very bad way, which some music from that period seems to have. The haircuts of that period, by contrast, have dated very badly, but the music thankfully hasn't."

The Irish rockers will release a concert DVD, titled Vertigo 2005: Live From Chicago, on November 15th. The group also appears in the Live 8 DVD, which comes out November 8th.

U2 began a two-night stand on Monday, October 24th, in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
