Franz Ferdinand ready for next single

Franz Ferdinand's current single, "Do You Want To," is doing quite well, sitting in the Top 20 on the Modern Rock radio charts. The group is now busy figuring out what its follow-up single will be, and frontman Alex Kapranos told us about a couple of contenders:
[ click here to listen if you have a Backstage Pass] "There's a little bit of debate at the moment. I know in the UK we're doing to release 'Walk Away' as the next single, whereas in the States I think it's probably gonna be 'The Fallen.'"

"Do You Want To" comes off the band's second album, You Could Have It So Much Better.

The group probably won't release a new single until late November or December, and possibly not until early 2006.

Franz Ferdinand start a 37-date European jaunt on October 27th in Belgium. The quartet will also be part of the Big Day Out tour of Australia in January.
