Jon Bon Jovi recalls It's My Life
Most fans remember Bon Jovi's "It's My Life" as a Top 40 hit in 2000. But frontman Jon told us he mostly recalls an argument he had with guitarist Richie Sambora over one of the song's lyrics - which had to do with fellow New Jersey native Frank Sinatra: [
click here to listen if you have a Backstage Pass] "'It's My Life' was the most self-indulgent song I've ever written. Richie and I had a good discussion over 'Frankie said I did it my way.' I had just come home from making U571 and I said 'Sinatra made 16 movies and toured 'til he was 80. This is my role model.' He said, 'You can't write that damn lyric. Nobody cares about Frank Sinatra but you.' And I wrote it anyway. I said, 'I'm the one who's gotta sing it every night!'" Bon Jovi's latest album, Have A Nice Day, debuted at Number Two on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
Jon's latest movie role was in the recent thriller, Cry Wolf.
The band kicks off a North American tour in support of Have A Nice Day on November 2nd in Des Moines, Iowa.
