No more touring for the Offspring
The Offspring recently finished tours of North America, Europe and Japan in support of its greatest hits collection, and that's pretty much all you'll see of the band for a while. Offspring frontman Dexter Holland told us that, with a few exceptions, the group wants to stay home and work on its next album: [
click here to listen if you have a Backstage Pass] "Well, you know, stuff comes up from time to time. I think, like, we just got offered to do a big snowboard event in Germany, I think in December. So sometimes stuff like that's kind of fun, just, you head out for a weekend, go someplace crazy like Germany, do a show, have fun and come back. So we might do little one-offs here and there, but I'm kind of excited about being home and really concentrating on working on a new record." The Offspring do have one date scheduled: the band will play the closing night of the BlizzCon computer and video game festival on Saturday (October 29th) in Anaheim, California.
Meanwhile, the band's cover of the Police's "Next To You," which was included as an unlisted track on the greatest hits set, is climbing the rock radio charts.
