Earliest AC/DC recording released
The earliest known recording ever made of AC/DC has been released on a brand new bootleg double album, according to fan site acdccollector.com. The vinyl record, titled In The Beginning, documents a concert recorded in March of 1974 at the Hampton Court Hotel in Sydney, Australia. The lineup of the band consists of guitarists Angus and Malcolm Young, original singer Dave Evans, bassist Neil Smith and drummer Noel Taylor.The track listing consists mostly of cover tunes, such as "Jumpin' Jack Flash," "Blue Suede Shoes," and "Baby Please Don't Go," along with a smattering of originals.
In The Beginning has been remastered and is available in a limited edition of 200 copies worldwide. It comes on multi-colored vinyl.
In other AC/DC news, the Associated Press reported that Angus Young has topped a list of the "25 greatest short dudes of all time" compiled by Maxim magazine in its December issue. At five feet, two inches, Young beat out contenders such as NBA guard Spud Webb, French ruler Napoleon Bonaparte, director Martin Scorsese and Star Wars character Yoda, shortest on the list at two feet, two inches.
