Nirvana release "silver" box set

Sliver: The Best Of The Box, a compilation of highlights from the four-disc Nirvana boxed set released last year, has arrived in stores. The new disc features three previously unreleased tracks, in addition to material that was already presented on the boxed set, titled With The Lights Out. Thirteen-year-old Frances Bean Cobain, late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's daughter with Courtney Love, reportedly helped select Sliver's title and cover image.

The three previously unheard songs are "Spank Thru," "Sappy," and a rehearsal recording of "Come As You Are."

With The Lights Out, which featured rarities and demos in addition to classic Nirvana tracks, came out last November after a protracted legal battle between Love, and drummer Dave Grohl and bassist Krist Novoselic.

The boxed set has sold more than 430,000 copies since its release.
