Ozzy to perform for the Queen
Ozzy Osbourne knows better than to say no to Queen Elizabeth II more than once. He declined an invitation to perform for her last year, but when he was asked to do this year's Royal Variety Performance in Wales on November 21st, he said yes. However, the rehearsal schedule means he has to drop out of Spike TV's Video Game Awards show on November 18th in Universal City, California. Ozzy said, "Last year, I was invited to perform at Royal Variety Performance and I was unable to, due to other commitments. I cannot turn down this incredible honor twice."Ozzy has actually met the Queen before, but he might not remember it. It happened in June 2002 at her Golden Jubilee celebration, which marked 50 years on the throne. He later told Britain's Radio Times, "I freaked out. I assumed I was the in-house joke. The Queen spoke to me but I haven't a clue what she said. Look at photographs - I'm in shock."
His latest release is the Under Cover album, which came out last week.
