Pink Floyd: Live 8 champions
The highlight of July's Live 8 concerts was the reunion of Pink Floyd's classic lineup in London's Hyde Park. The group's entire five-song set is featured on the new Live 8 DVD that has just been released. Songwriter/bassist Roger Waters told us that he enjoyed it as much as the fans: [

It went really well. It felt really good. I thought the songs sounded great. And if we get an opportunity to do something like that in the future, I'm up for it." Live 8 marked the first time this lineup of the band had played together since 1981. Waters left the band in the mid-Eighties, and sued his former bandmates when they tried to continue as Pink Floyd. The case was settled out of court.
Though he would be in favor of regrouping the band for future charitable events, Waters has ruled out the idea of a full-scale reunion tour.
The bassist recently released his first opera, Ca Ira, which is based on the French Revolution. He'll stage a concert performance of it on November 17th in Rome, and is considering some North American dates for 2006.
