Pink Floyd: Live 8 concert a one-off
Pink Floyd fans who are still hoping for more activity from the band shouldn't hold their breath. After the band was inducted into the UK Music Hall Of Fame on Wednesday, November 16th, in London, singer-guitarist David Gilmour and drummer Nick Mason appeared on the BBC's Radio 2. Host Mark Radcliffe asked whether they plan to work with singer-bassist Roger Waters again, as they did for Live 8 in July, and Gilmour said, "It was a one-off for that day...I don't think we could actually do it on a more long-term basis. We've all moved on."Gilmour also said there are no plans for Floyd to tour or record in the future, but he stopped short of saying that the band is officially retired.
Waters was in Rome, preparing for Thursday's (November 17th) staging of his opera Ca Ira, but he appeared at the ceremony via satellite.
Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright couldn't attend, since he's recovering from eye surgery.
