Rock Legends to share rock radio awards
Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Van Halen, Metallica and Velvet Revolver are among the rock nominees for the 2005 Radio Music Awards, which NBC-TV will broadcast live from Las Vegas on December 19th. New kids on the block, Green Day, lead the pack with a total of eight nominations. Bassist Mike Dirnt told us that he enjoys winning awards, but doesn't obsess over them: "I think it's great to some degree, but you know what, a hundred years from now, I'm not gonna have any awards, you know, I'm not gonna have any of that cool stuff, we're just gonna have a lot of good music to leave behind. And, you know, as long as you can keep that in mind and not be afraid to enjoy the party of it all, and the people that you're on this planet with right now, then I think you're gonna do all right."
