David Gilmour planning new CD and tour

Pink Floyd have not yet decided to tour, but singer-guitarist David Gilmour will get back into the game this spring. He is finishing his first solo album in 22 years, which will be titled On An Island, and which will be released in March. He worked on the album with Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera and recorded it at Abbey Road studios in London coproducing. Graham Nash and David Crosby appear on the album's title track, and Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright also guests on it.

On An Island will be Gilmour's third solo album. He released his self-titled work in 1978 and About Face in 1984.

Gilmour released a live DVD called In Concert back in 2002.

He is planning to tour Europe and North America in the spring.
