Evanescence singer excited about new CD

Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee has posted a message at the EvBoard message board in which she discusses the band's new album. Lee wrote that she is pleased with the record's progress, explaining, "It's been a crazy couple of weeks, but everything is going SO GREAT in the studio. I can hardly contain my excitement for this record, and I'm happier than I've been in so long I can't remember...I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!!! And I'm so glad we took the extra time to make this record right. You're gonna love it."

There's no word yet on a title or release date for the new disc, which will follow up the band's 2003 major label debut, Fallen. That album has sold over six million copies in the U.S.

The new album will Evanescence's first without co-founder and guitarist Ben Moody, who left the group in late 2003.

Unlike Fallen, which was written almost entirely by Lee and Moody, Lee told us last year that the entire band participated in the process this time:

What's cool is they've all been in bands before, and they're all writers, and they all have stuff they've done. And, like, while being on the road, and we've all grown together a little bit and everything and kind of gelled as a band, I've gotten to really realize that I've got a band of great writers with me."

The vocalist also wrote that, despite earlier reports, she does not have any music in the new film, The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe, which opens this Friday (December 9th). Lee added that she did write music for the fantasy flick, but claimed that it was rejected for being "too dark" and "too epic."

Lee is also being sued by her former management company, which claims that the singer owes it at least $10 million in unpaid commissions.
