Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist to record album
Lynyrd Skynyrd plan to record a new album in 2006, but founding guitarist Gary Rossington will have something of his own out before that. Rossington and his wife, Skynyrd backup singer Dale Krantz Rossington, have recorded an album which the guitarist told us is a rootsy and rocking affair: [
click here to listen if you have a Backstage Pass] "It's kind of a rock n' roll rhythm & blues album. Dale, she's singing and screaming and wailing away and singing better than I ever heard her. We're just mixing it now. It should come out next year some time and we can't wait. We're real excited about it." Rossington said he hasn't selected a title for the CD or a name for the project yet.
Lynyrd Skynyrd will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 13th at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.
The group performed on Thursday, December 15th, in Spokane, Washington.
