Lynyrd Skynyrd plan new album for 2006
Lynyrd Skynyrd hope to accompany next year's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with a new studio album. Guitarist Gary Rossington told us that he, guitarist Ricky Medlocke and singer Johnny Van Zant have been writing songs, and have every intention of getting some fresh music out in 2006: [

We're just putting together a new rock 'n' roll, trying to keep it original, like the old Skynyrd stuff used to be, and just more simple and staying with it and not trying to change too much, just rockin' and rollin' like we do." The album will be Skynyrds first since 2003's Vicious Cycle.
In addition to the band CD, Rossington and his wife Dale are finishing a new CD of their own that will also be out in 2006.
Skynyrd next perform on December 30th in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
