Pink Floyd guitarist announces tour dates

Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour has announced dates for his first solo tour in 22 years. Gilmour kicks things off in North America on April 4th and 5th in New York City and will follow with two-night stands at theaters in Toronto on April 9th and 10th, Chicago on April 12th and 13th, San Francisco on April 16th and 17th, and Los Angeles on April 19th and 20th. A pre-sale begins today (Tuesday, December 20th) for members of Gilmour's fan club at davidgilmour.com. Tickets will go on sale to the general public the second weekend of January.

The singer/guitarist begins touring on March 10th in Dortmund, Germany.

Gilmour's tour will support his third solo album, On An Island, which comes out on March 7th. The disc features guest appearances by David Crosby and Graham Nash, keyboardist Jools Holland, and Robert Wyatt.
