Rock legends unite for hurricane relief
Current and former members of bands including AC/DC, Cheap Trick, and Grand Funk Railroad will unite for a hurricane relief benefit tonight (Thursday, December 15th). The K-Rock For Relief benefit will take place at the Germain Arena in Estero, Florida, and it will feature performances by AC/DC members - and Florida residents - Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams, along with Robin Zander and Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick, former Grand Funk singer-guitarist Mark Farner, Blue Oyster Cult singer-guitarist Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser, former Deep Purple and Rainbow singer Joe Lynn Turner, Eddie Money, Loverboy,and drummer Steve Luongo from the John Entwistle Band. Proceeds from the concert will go to the Beasley Disaster Relief Fund and The John Entwistle Foundation, both of which are assisting victims of Hurricane Wilma, which hit Florida in late October.Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has already donated $13,000 to the show's fundraising total, and he's promised to add another $1,000 each time the Colts win again this season.
